The Community Food Pantry (CFP) strives to end the physical and emotional hunger of families in a dignified manner. The CFP takes a comprehensive approach to serving our clients that not only alleviates hunger but also provides support services such as health screenings, veterans’ assistance, and nutritional education for the whole person. The CFP is a 501(c)(3) organization as a mission of Village Presbyterian Church.  All clients and volunteers have no responsibility to Village Presbyterian Church or its programs.


Summary of Internship

During the Winter/Spring semester 2017-18, one college and two high school internships will be offered by the CFP.  These internships will allow students an opportunity to serve with the staff of the CFP and have an integral role in the development of new opportunities to help the pantry community.  Interns will serve clients, manage social media, and establish community partners and outreach.  Interns will have various tasks while providing administration assistance to include, future campaigns, fundraising, social media content and volunteer collaboration.  Interns will have weekly assignments required to be completed. Interns must be tech savvy and competent in WORD.

Requirements and Qualifications

Intern candidates must be available for 5 hours per week for the semester.  Applicants must have interest in philanthropy and / or ending hunger in the community.  All candidates will be considered and, if selected, will receive training and supervision by the CFP staff. It is ideal for students to have social networking experience, interpersonal skills and basic computer skills and be willing to learn computer programs.  Our team of volunteers is very unique and provides a wonderful environment for a safe, exciting and rewarding learning experience. Students will earn service hours, a certification of internship completion as well as a letter of recommendation for their endeavors.  College interns will also earn a small stipend.
