SUMMARY OF AVAILABLE 2026 INTERNSHIPS
HIGH SCHOOL INTERNSHIP - COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY
1 year commitment
(Training will begin March 2026)
15 high school internships will be offered by the CFP. These internships will allow students an opportunity to serve with the staff of the CFP and play an integral role in the development of new opportunities to help the pantry community. There will be opportunities to assist with daily pantry tasks, fundraising campaigns, social media content, serving clients, leading volunteers and establishing rapport with community partners based on skill set and need. The main focus will revolve around the important daily responsibilities of the pantry. Good communications skills, flexibility, dependability and kindness are required.
DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR, High School intern candidates must be available each month for at least one Tuesday shift from 4-6 pm and 2 weekend shifts from 8 am-12pm (approximately 10-12 hours monthly). If intern is participating in a school or club sport, they are excused during the sport’s season as needed.
DURING THE SUMMER, High School Intern candidates must be available for 1-2 week day shifts weekly and 2 weekend shifts monthly (10 shifts total minimum each month, approximately 30 hours monthly).
Students will earn service hours, a certification of internship completion, as well as letter(s) of recommendation for future college and job applications assuming commitment has been fulfilled satisfactorily. Interns are given priority for recommendation letters for college, awards and achievements recognition. All interns will be asked to agree to a social media contract for behavior on personal accounts that could be a reflection on the CFP. Parent/Guardians will be asked to sign this as well.
The deadline to submit the HIGH SCHOOL 2026 INTERN APPLICATION is February 15th. All applicants will receive notice of receipt of application, as well as notification of acceptance or deferral of application by March 1st. Any individual chosen for internship MUST commit to at least THREE MANDATORY training sessions in March (including at least one Tuesday and 2 weekend sessions) to be confirmed as an official Intern for 2026.
